About

Let’s get vizzical.

I did my PhD in the neuroscience of language at the Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. I now work in industry, turning numbers into pictures for The Information Lab in London, the UK.

This blog is about data preparation, data visualisation, and whatever else crops up in the course of my data work. This blog used to be about my research on sound-symbolism and synaesthesia, and also about my thoughts on wider issues within language research and academia in general, and all that is still archived on here.
